Jade joined Andrew Barrie Lab as an architectural graduate, having graduated from the University of Auckland with a Master of Architecture (Professional) in 2021.

Her thesis explored the concept of urban tiny homes, taking inspiration from the Japanese “Kyosho Jutaku” and translated into a New Zealand context. In 2019 Jade was awarded a scholarship by the North Asia Centre of Asia-Pacific Excellence for a research trip to Tokyo, researching the works of Japanese architect Akihisa Hirata. She has also worked with Andrew on architectural exhibitions and continues to collaboratively make guides on New Zealand architecture.
